Birthday party event benefits Yolo seniors
“I have been a longtime MOW volunteer, delivering meals as my schedule allows. I have also been so inspired by the work they are doing to increase access to vulnerable seniors throughout Yolo County. Especially to our communities west of 505 — including Winters, Esparto and the Capay Valley. […] (MOW’s) new food production facility in downtown Winters is completely game-changing, especially for delivery of services to west Yolo County.” - Supervisor Frerichs

Yolo County Board of Supervisors urge Partnership, Dignity Health to use state mediator
“The bottom line is vulnerable residents are unfairly stuck in the middle of this and in my opinion the parties need to get in a room and figure this out. I know there’s a lot of daily work that needs to go on so it might not be affecting the rest of Partnership’s geography but it’s affecting this one and it’s still affecting a few other counties too, just not in as large numbers as Yolo. It seems like this would be the top priority for resolution when people’s lives, many vulnerable residents’ lives, are at risk.” - Supervisor Frerichs

Expanding Interstate 80 through Davis
Traffic on Interstate 80 is often frustratingly slow through Davis, and has been for years. What’s the remedy? Caltrans proposes adding a fourth lane, and the options include allowing free use of the lane only to vehicles with at least three occupants — anyone else using the lane would pay a toll. That’s the option the Yolo Transportation District Board unanimously endorsed a couple weeks ago. On today’s Davisville we talk with Autumn Bernstein, executive director of the Yolo Transportation District, and Lucas Frerichs, who chairs the county Board of Supervisors and is a former mayor of Davis, about what's proposed, and why.
